Five Outfit Staples You Need Year-Round

Outfit Details: Jacket (sold out but similar here and here) //  Top  //

Denim // Shoes // Sunglasses

There are some handy staples you should have in your closet year-round. Things you can throw on and instantly be ready to run out the door. Whether you are heading to a football game, dinner with friends, weekend brunch, or running errands around town. I hate scrutinzing over what I am going to wear so I love having great go-to basics in my closet. It becomes a no brainer situation when I need to get dressed and start my day on the right foot.  To be completely honest, I know I spend way too much time in my workout clothes and I am okay with that, BUT we all need other fabulous options. Sometimes I feel like being a bit girly and heck--I like to wash AND Blowdry my hair sometimes too...and that is usually cause for a cute outfit to go along with it! My FIVE Essentials make getting dressed so much easier...

1. Soft Tee/Tank

2. Ripped Denim

3. Nude Heels

4. Leather Jacket

5. Versatile Sunglasses

I spend a lot of time in soft tee's and tanks like this and this. I love the tank above and you can't beat the price of $18 either...makes it even cuter! I now spend a little more money on these types of things because my "Cost Per Wear" justifies my purchase and I keep the item for so much longer because the quality is better. Oh...what is Cost Per Wear or CPW you ask?? It's figuring out how much it will cost you each time you wear an item. For example if you spend $50 on a shirt and wear it 50 times, it only cost you $1 each time you wore it. Amazing right?!? This is my usual justification to myself and my husband...haha!

I love, love, love wearing ripped denim these days too.  No "Mom Jeans" here, these cute and versatile pair are great for pretty much any casual outing you can think's got that "I look hot, but I didn't try to hard" type of vibe...LOL!

Every girl needs a nude's a must!! I have a few choices in my closet. Closed toe pump, open toed sandal and even a great flat. The truth is that a nude shoe elongates your legs. So if you wear them with shorts it doesn't cut off your leg. If you wear them with denim like shown above, it creates a softer look. I wore this nude sandal with a black dress to a recent wedding and I loved that it did both of the above...elongated my legs and made the look a bit softer! The options are truly endless with a nude you have a pair?

I purchased this jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this past summer and unfortunately this exact one is sold out, but I have linked some other cute ones above and here and here. As soon as the fall really comes to town (its currently 90+ degrees in California) that jacket is going to be my bff. I love the way it fits and looks--it adds an instant spice to your outfit.

I cannot leave the house without my sunglasses. Naturally, I need a few pairs so I am never without (right?). Sometimes I spend a little money on them and sometimes I prefer the cheaper ones. I find that for me, it works to have options of both to grab for different occasions, moods or activity. I have always loved the classic RayBan Wayfarer look, but also love ones like this and these are on my wishlist!

Keep these five items in your closet and your outfits will be a no-brainer! Lots of options, and easy go-to's to bring an outfit together fast. Tell me...what is one of your staples?

Thanks for reading!
